Pun Of The Weak: The Longest Word

pun-of-the-weak

During an English lesson…

Teacher: The longest English word is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis…

Little Johnny: I know a longer word than that.

Teacher: Could you please tell us what it is?

Little Johnny: Whatever follows “…and now a word from our sponsors…”.

    1. There are actually a lot more longer words than the one I listed here. However, whether some of them ahould be considered “words” are debatable. For example, the whole name of the chemical titin has 189,819 letters :D. Jes Joyce was also known for coming up with long words.

Anyway, the fear of Friday 13th is paraskevidekatriaphobia or friggatriskaidekaphobia while the fear of number 13 is Triskaidekaphobia.

I have a post about the composer Arnold Schoenberg’s irrational fear of the number 13 and how it caused his eventual demise.

  1. I remember playing a variant of Horse at the basketball court in a local park once called pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. I think we gave up before we finished, but it was much better than watching commercial advertising on TV.
