Some Blog-Related Updates

I’m in the process of cleaning up my blog and I just realized the amount of work waiting to be done.

Previously, I have been using a “first letter” format for my titles, that is, every first letter of every word in the title is capitalized. However, I now find this format atrocious to look at so I decided to switch to the AP capitalization format. As I have more than 500 posts published, it would take me several days before I could complete the task.

While I’m at it, I also decided to add some sort of “related posts” at the end of some of my posts. Of course, I’m aware that there are some suggested posts at the end (generated by WordPress) but in many cases, they don’t really display the “real” related posts. This would also increase the quality of my blog’s internal linking (I hope).

This is also a good opportunity to fix some of the posts’ metadata and whatnots.

I hope that I can finish this as soon as possible.

Anyway, for those of you who may not know, Learn Fun Facts is accepting guest contributors. If you are interested, please read the Submission Guidelines.

  1. This is kind of like Spring or Fall cleaning for you Edmark. When I post at I have to use their format of all words are initial capped in the headline. I forget sometimes as I have been accustomed to doing it the other way for years. Good luck with this project. My earlier blog posts, they are one long paragraph and very tiny pictures. We live and learn, don’t we?

    1. It’s one of the standards, at least for titles of web articles, and I liked it before. But now, I don’t prefer it anymore. The good thing is the format of my blog’s headlines will now match the titles of my notes…

      1. I never thought about it until I read the guidelines … I have been blogging there for five years, but no rules and regs before. It was owned originally by AOL and then was sold to Hale Communications. They had a new posting format – but no guidelines. These guidelines just came out in the last few months. I should look at my post I did tonight after I posted here. When I began the blog, I only did the one-word title so no issues there.
